I'm also sure it isn't corrupted as that would have been reported by others using the same download.Īaah.

There where other problems that have been repaired by Asseca just recently, he made a new download available on KVR. Maybe the Asseca file was corrupted somehow. I'm pretty sure it has indeed nothing to do with the specific patch. I can drone that 'Intro' patch, and many others on both versions with no discernable difference. I am not trying to save Voyager from becoming a 2nd-class citizen,īut there has to be something wrong on your end. I've lost some more hours in playing around with Krakli's RMXL :Dįor those interested in this beautiful synth, be sure to grab the additional soundbanks: But now I just tried the same in the freeware VST host Savihost () and all was fixed, so I guess this is the solution for everybody. Since I don't have Orion, I tried to fix by loading and saving the banks in Minihost, but they still crashed Reaper. I'll drop a note to Krakli (the dev) about this as well. So I'll do this with all three banks, do some more testing to be sure and then upload them to dropbox or something like that ) Might be the weekend before I get to it though. Well, the newly saved bank loads without problems in Reaper and plays nicely :D Then I saved that bank back to a new FXB-file from Orion. So I loaded RMXL up in Orion and loaded the first additional bank (they work without problems in Orion). So that's confirmed.Īs RMXL loads fine and plays it's internal soundbank without problems (here) in Reaper, I thought it to be a problem with the additional banks and not with the synth itself. OK, loaded one of the additional banks and. Thinking of it, I might try to do a Voyager preset bank based on the default sounds of Pro53 :D So I would not be looking to a specific emu but instead for a synth that has the versatility of a prophet, and there are some options around that are pretty close. For example SQ8L is capable of some very specific prophet sounds, especially the typical prophet hard-sync sound (it was one of the specific things that I bought my ESQ-1 for back in the days )). But the way I look at it you can get prophet sounds from other synths that has the correct architecture to do it.

No other free prophet emus as far as I know. I'm pretty good at beefing up thin softsynths with freeware plugs, but if you think Prophanity is closer to real prophet sound, I'll use it instead of the EFM one. And I do agree completely that VAZ does set a pretty high standard sound-wise. Sorry! no more payware talk in your thread TG :Dĭon't sweat it Bladerunner, it's kinda fun to weigh the freeware options against the commercial stuff out there.
